Arsenit

Arsenit is an Estonian architecture studio founded by Arseni Timofejev, BArch (Hons) DipArch PgDip ARB RIBA.

The studio was founded in 2020: lockdowns, remote work & additional free time meant a chance to work on interesting projects back home in Tallinn — in addition to award-winning projects with Coffey Architects in London.

In 2023, Arsenit completed Piil — the studio’s inaugural project.

Arseni Timofejev

Arseni started his path in Architecture by winning the Estonian Young Scholar Grant to support his studies abroad at the acclaimed Glasgow School of Art. He graduated from the Mac with a First Class Bachelor with Honours & Diploma in Architecture — as well as over a dozen awards, including the Glasgow Institute of Architects’ Design Prize. As Editor of the School’s annual MacMag, Arseni wrote for, designed & produced a publication that sold out 800 copies and was featured with the likes of Archdaily, Dezeen and Archinect.

After Glasgow, Arseni joined Steven Holl Architects in New York — working on prestigious international projects in the US and Europe, followed by a stint at the Beijing studio focussing on large-scale projects in Asia.

Arseni currently works with Coffey Architects in London — leading a number of projects within a sensitive context. Alongside work, he’s completed a Postgraduate Diploma at the University of Westminster with Distinction.

Arseni is a Chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, is registered with the Architects’ Registration Board, has an EU Registered Architect Certificate, and has been professionally recognised by the Estonian Regulatory Authority. He has a wide range of experience leading teams working on commercial, retro-fit, housing, co-living, retirement, cultural, educational and residential projects for leading developers & private clients.

In addition to design, Arseni has a passion for languages & understanding human communication — he has studied linguistics and speaks English, Estonian, Russian, French and Japanese, and is currently practicing Mandarin.
